Road Racing Cars
Road racing cars can be run in two types of races: in the first, the participating cars are run on specially built, closed circuit courses; in the second, public roads are temporarily closed off for the period the race is being conducted. For example, Monaco Grand Prix is conducted on the city streets of the Mille Miglia, the Targa Florio, and the Isle of Man. The Tourist Trophy - though not a car but a motorcycle race - is organized over the Snaefell Mountain Course, as well as the Northwest 200 in Ireland. Ulster Grand Prix is also run on closed road circuits in Ireland.
Recently quite a few dedicated road tracks have been built in Qatar in the Middle East, Sepang in Malaysia, and Shanghai in China.
